March 6th, 2010

Lake Quinalut was mirroring the mountains of Enchanted Valley when I woke. I passed the resort for last goodbyes before continuing south. It was good being back in the saddle - especially on this warm day. First one in shorts. Down the road I ran into Greg, another fellow tourer. He was sitting resting - having ridden for 6 days, heading for San Diego.
It was a good ride to Hoqualim. The sun was setting over the strange town as I pulled in. Time had stood still here for a while - in the mean time stores had closed and were borded up. Some historic buildings stood in perfect conditions - one being the 7th Street Theater - movie of the night: Casablanca! yes.
Checked into the Econolodge - washed clothes, made a drying sculpture - dinner in the brown surroundings of Alexanders. Pasta. The Sevice was bad and chicken off. Bogart began at 7:30...
Another surprising good day.
